Webster's dictionary defines plastic surgery as a specialty of surgery that is intended to correct, restore or improve parts of the human body that are either injured or are poorly or incorrectly configured. Some people think it is synonymous with something fake and superficial, while others believe that it is a transportation and transplantation of plastic parts in humans.
Indeed there is some truth in these interpretations since the word "Plastic" is derived from the Greek word "plastic" meaning "He who has the ability to shape."
The American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) defines plastic surgery as follows:
"Plastic surgery deals with correcting, restoring or replacing natural deficits or functions in the skin, musculoskeletal system, craniofacial region, hands, legs, the breast and trunk, the external genitalia or cosmetic surgery areas them to improve them.
