H5N1 bird flu still active

The Hong Kong  authorities have slaughter in recent days  17,000 poultry following the detection of three fatal cases of the virus H5N1.
In parallel, the government has moved to ban any importation or sale of live poultry for the next three days, with the competent departments of the Ministry of Health in alarm.
The "bird flu" caused panic in 2009. About 300 people had been then under close medical supervision.
